MAASAI CHECK FLOUNCED MAXI SKIRT
- Description
Originating from East Africa, the Masai cloth holds a rich cultural history in Maasai communities. While the origin of the cloth is highly debated, one school of thought traces Maasai's iconic check print to Scottish missionaries with its strong resemblance to Scottish plaid or tartan patterns. Endelea's Maasai collection is made in collaboration with the Maasai Intellectual Property Initiative to protect and preserve this cultural heritage. Maasai cloth comes in a variety of colours, all holding cultural significance. This check print maxi skirt comes in blue, representing the sky and rain. The skirt has a flounce detail to give shape and structure to the piece and has side pockets and an elastic waistband for comfort.
