Eki Kere is inspired by her Nigerian heritage and the traditional crafts and techniques that surround her, she takes these inspirations and crafts piece that blend these with modern design principles. Raffia for Eki is an integral part of her heritage and is often utilised in her pieces, here it adorns the hem and sleeves, of an A-line dress. The main fabric of the dress is locally bought cotton, which is hand painted and dyed.

Eki uses the materials available to her locally as inspiration for her pieces, wanting to incorporate her heritage and support her community as much as possible, working this way brings her immense joy.
